Behind file number 12 is a blue labeled 45 put out by Fontana records in 1969. It’s the smash hit by Steam Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye with It’s The Magic In You Girl as the B Side.
I thought both of these songs were terrible, but in researching the group, it makes sense. Steam was a fictitious band, made up of studio musicans Paul Leka, Gary DeCarlo, and Dale Frashuer. David Chester played guitar on Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye.
First is the song everyone knows, even if it’s just the chorus. 3:45 of this is enough for anyone to hear this for a lifetime.

Both of these songs are just bad. If I had to pick one, though, I’d pick It’s The Magic In You Girl. What about you?
I’m in complete agreement with your verdict. 😀 Not much there, but there’s a bit of a nice chord change or two in the bottom one. Now why they chose that photo for the cover, that’s another thing…
