This is a reprint of the 1963 hardcover novel. Although it has images of the 1968 film on the front and back, it is not a novelization of the movie.
I was surprised to learn that the book is very much different from the film. The premise is there, but it is a totally different story from the movie!
I enjoyed reading this one. It’s pretty unbelievable at times, but overall it is an engaging story, and kind of funny, too.
If you like the movie, just read this and see how the two differ. It’s a pretty quick read, and a classic to boot!
