The Halloween Tree – Silent Photoplay: A Place for Stories of All Types

The Halloween Tree

Read Time:1 Minute, 3 Second

The Halloween Tree (1972) ⭐⭐⭐ ⭐ by Ray Bradbury

I read an e-book version of The Halloween Tree. I absolutely loved this really cozy book about the traditions and history of Halloween, all wrapped up in a short book for children. It is the perfect book to read for children and adults alike — anyone who loves Halloween and Ray Bradbury.

I learned about this book from a podcast called Cottage Corner. She listed a bunch of cozy things to experience for spooky season, and this was one of them. Thanks, Cottage Corner!

Get ready for the ultimate adventure. A group of boys get ready to go out trick or treating on the night of all nights, but there’s someone missing. It’s Pipkin, the favorite of the group! Halloween just wouldn’t be Halloween without Pipkin along. He tells them to meet him at the haunted house on the hill and he’ll be right along, but something still seems wrong with Pipkin.

The boys go to the house, and soon find out that Pipkin is lost and they must find him by going through the history of Halloween and its traditions. Just read it! This is a really fantastically atmospheric story. You can really feel the love the friends have for Pipkin.
