Donald Duck in Frontierland (1957) by Revena ⭐⭐⭐
This Tell-A-Tale book is stated as being authored by simply ‘Revena’.
This one’s kind of cute. Huey, Louie, and Dewey are up to their old tricks again! The three want to ride in Donald’s stagecoach, and they suppose that he won’t collect fares since they are family. But, no, Donald takes their fares all the same and then goes in to buy a soda. They figure they’d pull a nice trick on ‘Unca Donald’. They switch the horses with special horses that go when you say “Whoa!” and stop when you “Giddyap!”
When the horses won’t go, Donald says “Don’t you know the difference between Giddyap and Whoa?” and there they go faster and faster as Donald yells whoa many times in vain. Up and down, in and out, even splashing into the river. Of course, the boys think this ride is so hilarious. Donald finally yells “Giddyap then!” and they stop. The Sherriff gives Donald a medal for setting a speed record for the run. Donald is MAD! The books ends with the boys all running three different directions.
Some really cute pictures in this one, and I like that this is based on Disneyland.
