How about we talk about my 45s collection? I have quite a few! I decided to take them out today and find out if they are on youtube so I can share. Some of them have sleeves, but most don’t. The ones I’ll share first are in a green box tin with numbered file cardstock.
Behind file number 1, we find Patti Page’s Trust In Me/Under the Sun Valley Moon. This was released in 1958. It was put out by the Mercury Record Corporation.
Lyrics found on lyricsfreak.
Trust in me oh trust/Trust in me/In all that you do/Have the faith/That I have in you/Love will see/Us through/As long as you trust in me/Trust in me/Come to me/When things go wrong/Plead to me/And I’ll be strong/We can get/Along/As long as you trust in me/While there’s a moon on high/While there’s a bird to fly/While there’s a you, you and I/You can be sure I love you/Stand beside/Me all of the while/Face the future/Face it with a smile/Trust in me/And I’ll be worthy of you/Trust in me/And I’ll be worthy of you/Trust in me (I’ll be worthy of you)/Trust in me (I’ll be worthy of you)/Trust in me (I’ll be worthy of you)/Trust in me (I’ll be worthy of you)
The second song, Under the Sun Valley Moon, sort of reminds me of a Christmas song. In fact, it really could serve as a Christmas song, although it doesn’t mention the holiday.
I couldn’t find these lyrics on the ‘net so I listened to it and typed them out myself.
A winter night/A land of white/The night we learned of love’s delight/Under the sun valley moon/Amid the snow/Two hearts aglow/The warmest hearts/In Idaho/Under the sun valley moon/Each whisperin’ pine/Had one design/To make me yours/And make you mine/But you loved me and left me too soon/Til you return/There’ll never be/Another one/Under the sun/Under the sun valley moon/Under the sun valley moon/Under the sun valley moon/Each whisperin’ pine/Had one design/To make me yours/And make you mine/But you loved me and left me too soon/Til you return/There’ll never be/Another one/Under the sun/Under the sun valley moon/Under the sun valley moon
I really like the second song the best.
What do you think? Do you like these songs? Hate them? Let me know in the comments!
She really had a mellow, smooth voice, didn’t she? I especially like the second one—beautiful vocal styling and words.
Yes! I am unsure if I knew of her before this…. or maybe I did, but didn’t know it was her. I hope there are more of her in here.
I’d often heard the name, but this is the first recording I ever heard. I can see why she was popular.
